the "Dry" 7"

Hi Friends!

As you may or may not know we spent a day this past summer recording some new tracks with our friend Armand John-Anthony. Out of that session we tracked five songs and picked two little gems to be released via a vinyl 7" entitled "Dry" this December. The 7" will be limited to 300 pressing with the first 100 pressed on blue vinyl and 200 on marble vinyl. All 300 will be numbered by hand and include a digital download, with the second track, "We Descend" being exclusive to vinyl purchase. Check back for a release date and pre-order goodness.

Satellite Session 7-11-10

The dishes are done, so to speak. This past Sunday we tracked 5 new songs with our record producing guru Armand John-Anthony at his own Satellite Studios in Ventura. All LIVE! A first, for us. Mixing will commence this week and as far as how/when you can hear these little gems, we will let you know soon. Until then here's some eye candy courtesy of our good friend Rachel Clare. See ya soon.

Calamitizing the World Wide Web

Practice Space photo by Balt Cano

In an attempt to draw even more attention to ourselves, we bring you our own little blog. Since there's quite a bit going on in the world of Calamity, I thought it would be a good time to capture all the goodness going on right here. For starters: after writing a wave of new songs in the past few months we are getting ready to demo some of them in a couple of weeks with Armand Tambouris/John-Anthony/Dabour (whatever his fucking name is). Some working titles for now are Dry, If I Could be King, Losers, and Best of Me. And yes! we'll be capturing all the fun stuff for your reading/viewing pleasure.

Also, in other (just as) exciting news we've added a new Calamity to the roster in Phil Tibbs to play second guitar. Phil has been playing with us for the past few weeks getting up to speed and we're super stoked to have him play with us. So make sure to make him feel welcome.
For now that's it, we'll make sure to keep you up to date with all the happenings on our end in the very near future.
